Drips & Designs in Party Themes

Everything around here starts with an idea

that needs to be put to

a virtual piece of paper.

Everyone wants to see what it looks like

BEFORE it's even made.

So we make a computer mock up page of ideas

that can be changed and tweaked in fun ways

to fit someone's vision of

perfection and fit their party event.

Here's some examples of a starting point.

Take an ice cream theme for example.

One of the things I've used frequently are DRIPS.

I love them.

I search for them and save them.

I compare them.

I love multiple layers of drips

in different colors.

Ice cream often means soft pastels but sometimes

things go in a different direction in life.

Sometimes that direction colors your teeth

with bold colors with each lick.

Funny looking in my opinion but most likely

a Superman ice cream cone is

beyond delicious to the receiver.

I think I outgrew that at around 5 years old and

now my favorite is chocolate mint.

But I digress. Back to drips.

That's why we're here.

When I found Creative Fabrica online

one of the first things I searched for was drips

and I was instantly rewarded with 30

drips of frosting and ice cream.

Here's a delicious looking one

I found on their site.

Ice cream often does require sprinkles.

I currently only had a
very boring white frosting drip and
also one that was too busy and big.
The white one was very uninspiring or
"vanilla" as
the dictionary describes it:
"having no special or extra features;
ordinary or standard".

This other one looked like several people
threw their ice cream cone on a wall
and they all started to melt together and
drip down the wall.
Not a good choice either for most projects
...or even any so far...
but I still keep it because
I love it and someday
it will be just the right thing.
I am an equal opportunity lover of
any type of drip.
I even have a file of water drips for
beach and tropical theme parties.
Here's a favorite bold water drip that
sometimes looks good on the tip of a
water ski or incorporated with other
water splashes and drips.

Take it. Borrow it.
Use it if you need it.

Then there are paint drips.

Not edible for sure but delicious to look at for

an entirely different theme like art.

So I collect them.

Categorize them.

Label them: ice cream, frosting, water and paint.

I need to be able to find them quickly

when I'm working

on a project design mockup.

Time is of the essence because

someone is waiting to see what

I come up with and I can't just stay

in the shower (where I get

my best ideas) thinking about it.

I need to get on it fast and creatively

so I can keep the price for

the finished design in a budget friendly zone.

That can be a deciding factor on

whether someone orders something or not.

No one cares about my time factor at

this point. It's all about finding something that

fits and sparkles and

looks unique and personalized.

I'm constantly in need of inspiration that I often

get from my own brain but definitely from sites like

Creative Fabrica where the creativity of others

fuels my brain and makes it run like a faucet

instead of in little drips.

Example:
This party sign was enhanced
with 2 ice creams
and one with drips, of course, from
You too can get your own ice cream drips
anytime you need some to flavor your world.

My Fairy Garden

There's something about little creatures and small woody objects that intrigue me. If I see a piece of wood with an interesting hole, then I always see a little fairy inside it. Don't invite me to a bonfire unless you want me to save a cool shaped log from the fire. I do that.

I love working with Apoxie Sculpt because it can be placed outside. I use E6000 glue for outdoor projects and sometimes high strength glue sticks if I know they will never see outdoors. Sometimes my fairy creatures seem too delicate to make them endure the outside elements. Here's an example of ones I keep inside.

Here's an outdoor Apoxie Sculpt mushroom about 9" high I
nestled into some flowers and how it came about from a
mess on my floor.

I'll be posting more here as I take more pictures of
my fairy garden world from start to finish.

Here's one of my latest Apoxie Sculpt fairy houses.
There is now a fairy residing in the little swing and it's
in the garden doing very well. The base is an actual rock
painted to blend with the rest of the sculpted elements.

Here's how basic it was to start with.
Maybe this will give you an idea starter.

Party Decor Instructions & DIY HELP

We offer help in many ways.
One of the ways is with our videos.

4 VIDEOS

This is how we do it! Order the videos and learn more.

Another way is the instruction sheets we include with our shipped items.
Here's an example of one.

We need to ship things in a safe and economical way.
We use Fedex and they are careful but we still need to
box things securely. Flat items that are packaged in similar shapes works
the best. So therefore some assembly is often required upon arrival.

These instruction sheets show visual helps as well as words to
describe the process. Also included is my email and phone number.

We love to make and create party decorations like Sign In Boards, Place cards,
Centerpieces, Gift Card Money Envelope Boxes and Candle Lighting Centerpieces.
But sometime we realize people want and need to create their own ideas.

Therefore we created helpful videos for cutting that foamcore that looks easy to cut
but required some skills and knowing some tips and tricks.

Also, once the foamcore is cut, then the fun
begins with paint, glitter and various glossy and fun accent items.

It can be easy if you know where to buy supplies economically (we share resources in our videos) and how to assemble things.
First line of defense is a hot glue gun, of course.
I think everyone should own one...or even two for a backup or to offer to your most
helpful friend.

Sharing is caring and we care that your special event day is successful and
the run up to the day is also as smooth as it can be.

Video Instructions to help you make DIY Party Decorations

Hello there. Glad you found us.
I'm Marlyss on the left who is writing this.
Stacey is my daughter.

I've been making party decorations here in Michigan for longer than I want to attach a number to.  Stacey joined up with me over 10 years ago. She has brains (went to West Point and got an engineering degree) and beauty and mad foamcore cutting skills and an overflow of creativity flowing thru her veins.

Stacey also has great iMovie skills so we've made some instructional videos to share with the world all the things we've learned about making and shipping party decorations all around the United States. We only ship in the USA but very often get requests from the UK, Canada, Australia and once even from Africa. We don't ship to these places but we definitely can offer our video help to folks anywhere out of the USA....or here as well in the United States if you are a do-it-yourselfer or a party professional who wants to enhance their skills.

We can always still make things and ship them directly to you but I realize that sometimes folks have really tight budgets or even just want to do things themselves to
dig in deep into their party making process.

We've learned so much over the years. Sometimes the hard way too. But we have grown and have made so many fun & unique party centerpieces and signs from the inspirational input that folks have given us to get our creative juices flowing.

If you want to dig in deep to make your own ideas or have to just because the budget is small but the ideas are large, one of these videos is just right for you!

Here's some of the topics covered in our videos:

"DIY CENTERPIECES"

 1. What we use for bases and where we get the material.
 2. How to make a hole in the base for elevated centerpiece poles and how to prevent
     wobbly poles.
 3. What variety of materials you can use to cover the bases.
 4. Where to get mylar.

 7. What to fill the poles with and where to get the material.
 8. How to fill a clear pole.
 9. How to make a sprocket to keep your pole secure and straight.
10. How to attach props to the top of the pole.
11. What printer we use and how to get economical ink to make computer designs.

"TIPS & TRICKS with FOAMCORE"
 1. What tools we use to cut foamcore.
 2. How to prevent choppy and rough edges when cutting foamcore.
 3. Best position for your knife when cutting thru foamcore to get even edges.
 4. How to cut perfect circles.
 5. How to clean up rough edges when they do occur.
 6. How to cut perfect stars.
 7. How to cut clean and crisp letters.

10. The difference between white and black foamcore.
11. Tips for painting foamcore and what paints to avoid and which ones to use.
12. How to get a perfect and smooth glossy painted surface.
13. How to glitter foamcore to get the best look and avoid mistakes.

"How to MAKE an OCTAGON BASE"

1. This video shares all the tips to make one of our most popular upgraded bases instead
    of using styrofoam.

2. We share how to get the measurements right and tips for getting the sides even and
    straight and a perfect octagon.

3. We share how to cut & glue each side and assemble it into a sturdy and re-inforced
party centerpiece base that will enhance anything you place on top of it.
